Co-teaching that works: special and general educators’ perspectives on collaboration

There are surprisingly few studies analysing collaboration between special and general educators that has been proven to work well. The aim of the present study is explore perspectives on their collaborative efforts teaching pupils who receive education assistance. adopts a qualitative approach where interviews with eight have analysed identify underlying processes mechanisms characteristic successful these two educational professions. sampling was purposive only found achieved in past were invited participate. Three main themes emerged during analysis: meta-analytic teaching, mutual recognition enthusiasm, inclusive teaching. overall conclusion findings indicates embedded type instruction supports basic premises appreciation diversity. Educational professionals willing come closer one another terms practice professional identities better equipped succeed co-teaching situations.
